<p>It is hard to believe three weeks of summer vacation have come and gone. The first week I was busy packing up my classroom for the summer. I was lucky enough to be on the screening and interview committee for the new math teacher in my department. We had many great applicants. I am looking forward to working with Megan. I think she is going to be a wonderful addition to our department.
The second week of summer was a magical week! I was fortunate to have the opportunity to chaperone the FBLA (future business leaders of America) national trip in Orlando. We had 12 students competing. We stayed at Disney World! It was an amazing experience. I had never been to Disney World and I hadn't been to Disneyland since I was in 3rd grade. Guess what? I am a ride junkie...I couldn't get enough of the rides!
The third week was the 4th of July! My favorite holiday of the year!!! I love everything red, white, and blue. I love the patriotism (especially when people show it year round, not just one or two days a year). My favorite part is the fireworks! My husband and I have our favorite spot to watch the city fireworks from. We took our two dogs Tate, a 3 pound Yorkie, and Coleman, a 95 pound black lab, with us. They loved the fireworks too! This year my parents joined us to watch the fireworks.
This week I caught a cold...not my favorite thing...but luckily it is summer vacation so I can just sleep and relax...no sub plans to write!
Today I got my haircut. I love that it starts out with a stress releaving scalp massage! Jym does a great job and just celebrated his 5th anniversary of being in business on his own!!! Yeah Jym!
